History

|| Kithood ||

Thawkit was born just barely before SkyClan had to move due to constant flooding. Still in the gorge, Thawkit was born to Secondlight and fathered by Snowpelt, with one littermate, a small she-cat kit named Shiverkit. Neither name was after the season, it was in the middle of greenleaf after all, but Snowpelt wanted to continue a tradition - his own father named Iceclaw. Thawkit and her sibling could barely walk for any decent amount of time when Sparrowstar announced the need to move, but the family had no choice but to follow the Clan. The last moons of her kithood were spent at the Lake, surrounded by the rest of the clans she had heard of only in nursery tales, and her experience there would be similar to any other cat's. She was fiery and a bit more rough than most of the kits, full of energy, and the cold disposition she has presently barely existed at first, though she seemed to grow a bit more short-tempered and impatient as she aged, nearing apprenticeship. Shiverkit grew a similar disposition as well, though tended to be the less outspoken, yet better worded, one out of the two.

Nowadays, Thawstar barely remembers the gorge, only small bits of memory of the nursery float in her dreams. SkyClan's journey to the lake claims the most vivid memories of her time as a kit, though the journey did not even take up a majority of it.

|| Apprenticeship ||

Once Thawkit had reached the appropriate age, Sparrowstar named the Clans deputy, Valleyfog, the newly named Thawpaw's mentor. The leader could see that Thawpaw, though full of enthusiasm for training and learning, had impatience and aggression in her attitude, and Valleyfog's relaxed, level headed attitude was what was needed to make sure Thawpaw's traits didn't turn for the worse. Thawpaw, of course, was unaware of this, and was simply honoured to be trained by the Clan deputy of all cats.

Though Valleyfog was outwardly calm and laid-back, he wasn't afraid to get strict or straighten Thawpaw out. Thawpaw, of course, didn't appreciate it at the time, especially at the beginning of her apprenticeship. She snapped against Valleyfog several times in arguments, though her mentor never reciprocated, the coldest his tone ever getting being stern. The lack of reaction eventually dissuaded the fiery apprentice from acting out, and she even began to model herself off of it, though instead of a relaxed tone, she naturally ended up with her trademark icy disposition.

Thawpaw and Shiverpaw remained close, and though where Thawpaw grew icy, Shiverpaw relaxed. Shiverpaw as well worded as before and Thawpaw just as direct, the two apprentices worked well together in having each other's backs in arguments and debates with Clanmates. They were both still close to their parents, though grew a normal distance from them as expected.

|| Warriorhood ||

Thawpaw and Shiverpaw were named warriors after a successful border skirmish, taking the names Thawslip and Shivertooth for their ability in the battle. Thawslip grew close to her old mentor during this time, finding herself still wanting advice from the tom about certain situations, or simply just talking. Thawslip was the most open during this time as well, though considering her, it still wasn't much, but she did tend to be more personable, if still intimidating, to fellow Clan members.

Her warriorhood continued without much incident for a few cycles of seasons, even taking on a few apprentices in that time, her most recent being a shy apprentice by the name of Cloudypaw. He was a clingy one, dependent on his mother and something Thawslip sought to rectify- a warrior does not grovel. And while he had his fair share of difficulties, he had his benefits of being eager to learn, and was easily one of the apprentices that listened to her, took her advice to heart, the most. What other issues he had were small, easily rectified with punishments to clean out the elder's den- and overall, Thawslip found herself fond of the young cat, and more than proud to see him earn his warrior name of Cloudyspot.

It wasn't long after that last moment of celebration, before the dams came. SkyClan, who's territory was away from the lake, was the first of the Clans to lose their source of water. Lack of prey and disease soon swept over the territory and the Clan within. The disease took both Secondlight and Snowpelt from Thawslip and Shivertooth. Shivertooth mourned. Thawslip hardened, threw herself into her duties and worked hard and continuously. With barely enough time for Thawslip to recover, have a chance to relax and open again, Valleyfog died as well.

|| Deputyship ||

Thawslip was chosen to be the new deputy by Sparrowstar. The leader took how the warrior had thrown herself into her duties as the Clan grew desperate a sign as hope, and so Thawslip stepped up to second in command. She was honored, of course, but there was little time to rejoice. She used her new authority as an opportunity, and with Sparrowstar's blessing, pulled together a small patrol of warriors and lead them off to the other clans. Her own pride was laid aside to help her Clan, and ask for help from the others, if any had any herbs or Medicine cats to spare and help. The state of SkyClan only frightened and disgusted the other clans though, and Thawslip and her patrol were driven from each territory, forced to come back to camp with empty paws and a gash in her ear. Thawslip, who was always distrustful of the other Clan's intentions after countless stories of how SkyClan was originally disbanded, grew bitter and even more distrustful of the other Clans. Sparrowstar was obviously disappointed, but didn't seem to hold the same grudge.

It was shortly after that Sparrowstar grew sick with the disease as well, and fast. Thawslip had to take on her duties, addressing the Clan, and as the Gathering neared, Sparrowstar instructed her deputy to go in her stead. Sparrowstar had died by the time Thawslip returned, returning to this world shortly before Thawslip came to see her.

Thawslip and Shivertooth grew separate from the stresses of the time, though neither cat had time to notice the growing divide to mend it.

It wasn't long after that the Clans, all of them, were forced to move. Sparrowstar agreed with the other Clans to find a new home, and even if Thawslip had some misgivings, she supported her leader's decision whole-heartedly.
The journey was hard, though Thawslip, knowing that she was an authority, someone cats looked up to, she never let an inkling of doubt cross her features or tinge her actions. She held her head up high, and continued, though remained standoffish and suspicious of cats outside her Clan, even as she watched the separating line between Clans grow small, practically nonexistent over the Journey. Then Sparrowstar fell, tumbling into a rift as the cats continued along the steep cliffside, with Thawslip unable to move fast enough to even be able to reach out to help the leader, let alone save her. She was gone, and the full weight of leading a Clan fell onto Thawslip's shoulders.

Thawslip herself might've fallen to the same fate later on- the unofficial lead took up the back of the group a majority of the time, careful to make sure no cats were left behind if they could afford it. Of course, that meant there were little around to notice when she lost her footing and skidded down the cliff-side, landing non-lethally, but far enough to sprain a paw, and be unable to pull herself back up to safety. It was Moorfog, the WindClan deputy, that offered her help- something Thawslip protested against as vehemently as she could, until it became obvious she would not make it back up any other way.

||Leadership||

Though still going by Thawslip, the tabby was the new leader of SkyClan, though unofficial, and with no time to name a deputy anyways, Thawslip lead alone. This, of course, caused whispers, but Thawslip's loyalty to the Warrior Code made her determine that as she has not been fully named, she did not have the authority yet to name a deputy.

Finally the journey reached an end, and a new home found. SkyClan took to the most inland territory, among the edge of the mountains where they came, and Thawslip ordered camp in the most secure place in the territory- a cave found behind a waterfall by a small scouting patrol. Clan life was busy, but settled quickly. It was on a lone patrol, Thawslip giving herself time to think more than anything, that she found a small loner, barely out of his kittenfur, half dead at the edge of her territory. She took him in, and with discussion, took the small tom into her Clan under the name Brokenpaw. She took him under her own wing as her apprentice as well.

Barely a quarter moon of rebuilding her clan had passed before Thawslip joined the other unnamed leaders and medicine cats to the Mooncave to receive their lives and leader names. She received neither, and confusion and anger took a hold of her. How were the Clans expected to stay Clans when StarClan had abandoned them? How was she supposed to lead with all the insight and determination of a fully named leader? Among those present it was heavily suggested keeping this quiet as well. The she-cat, now Thawstar, strongly disagreed, and returned to her new home in a rage, medicine cat in tow.

||First Life||

Thawstar is currently on this life at the start of the roleplay.
No other lives have been granted to her.

Thawstar has chosen Palethroat to be her deputy- finding a mirror to her own convictions within him, and finding value in his gift of gab, even if it a little much for her at points.

Personality

+ || Loyal || Thawstar's heart belongs entirely to her Clan. She would die for her Clan and any Clanmates within, and fight fiercely to protect anyone. Though not exactly known for being kind-hearted most of the time, her loyalty will make her stick her neck out for others, as well as do what she can to comfort them, despite comforting not exactly being a strong-suit.

+ || Passionate || Not one to give up, Thawstar has enough drive to try to move an entire river herself if she had to. She doesn't like settling for second-best, and will push herself and others to do the best they can do. Her passion and drive shape basically everything she does, from leading the Clan, to solving problems, to fighting in a battle.

+ || Intelligent || Easily able to identify and fix a problem, one of Thawstar's best qualities as a leader is her drive and ability to figure things out. She is able to figure out a plan and act accordingly and swiftly, and because of this she makes a strong guide for her Clan despite her rasher tendencies. When it matters most she will let her mind make the decisions rather than her heart.

> || Cool || Her aloofness and slightly icy tone will make Thawstar a great speaker for her Clan during future Gatherings, presenting herself and her Clan as resilient and without weakness. This tone is really just a combination of how she speaks and bad communication skills though, and makes her seem a bit prickly to try to get close to with any Clanmates. This is unintentional, and though Thawstar isn't exactly a softie, she does care for her Clanmates and friends.

> || Cat-of-few-words || Thawstar's speech is direct and with little frills, which leaves little room for misunderstanding. She speaks her mind clearly, and isn't one to hide a detail for conveniences or friendships sake. This can also make her a little blunt, as well as hard to read. If she has nothing to say, she wont force herself to speak, which can lead to some awkward silences or unimpressed stares with no explanation.

> || Drive || Though in most cases this trait can be a positive influence, this also means Thawstar has a tendency to never know when to stop. This applies especially to herself, and she will overwork herself to uselessness if given the chance when a specific task is taking longer than anticipated or not working out like she thought it would.

- || Short-tempered || Thick skin and a level head are not virtues Thawstar possess. She's easy offended or defensive, and though she's not battle-hungry, she is quick to lash out at anyone in either words or claws when defending her pride or the pride of her Clan.

- || Doubtful ||
 Thawstar is quick to dismiss something if she doesn't see it for herself (though this being said, she's always willing to look). She's rather suspicious of other Clans' intentions, though this is in her eyes, very reasonable, considering SkyClan had only recently returned from being driven out too many seasons ago to count, as well as the fact no help had come to them when they were the first to fall sick at the Lake.

- || Stubborn ||
 Thawstar is not one for negotiations, and will rigidly stick to what she thinks is the best plan of action. Her one-track-mind can be a hassle for others to work around, both in and out of her Clan. She's not one to come to a conclusion and stick to it if she's unsure of it, but there are few times when she thinks she is unsure of what the best action would be.

Fighting Style || Thawstar's fighting style is particularly characteristic, aggressive and fast, but lacking the finesse that a lot of cats possess. She's a formidable fighter, and her jerky movements- both in dodging and attack- are both unusual as well as, upon occasion, helpful.
Strengths ||
- Protective
- Wants whats best for her Clan
- Strong-willed
Weaknesses ||
- Her temper
- Distant
- gets chilled and worn out quickly
Additional Notes||
- Thaw's unique white blotches are due to vitiligo! These will grow as she ages, and were in fact much smaller when she was a kit!
- She snores. Loud.
Grace is not one of Thawstar's strong suits. 'Aggressive jittering' is a more apt description of Thawstar's movements both in and out of battle.

Relationships

Orientation || Huge Lesbian (hell ya)
Looking for || Not actively seeking, but open to a relationship regardless.

|| ThunderClan ||

Cedarstar| tinymonstrosity  | Fellow Leader
Cedarstar is a cat that has Thawstar's respect- she was made leader at the same time Thawstar was made deputy, and Thawstar is keenly aware of how hard the past year has been on all the clans, as well as how hard it is to lead brand-new during these times. Cedarstar has proven herself a capable leader in Thawstar's eyes- if not a bit too soft. They havent had much personal interaction, and because of this Thawstar won't be speaking any respect anytime soon.

 ShadowClan Bullet FTU
|| ShadowClan ||

Coyotestar | aerioi | Fellow Leader
A new leader just like herself, Coyotestar has yet to prove himself in any real capacity to Thawstar. She is aware of his past as a rogue, and holds no ill will towards it- after all, SkyClan has only survived because of kittypet and loner blood. And despite them being made leader at the same time, equals, Thawstar feels no need to provide any kinship because of it- until he has proven himself worthy of respect.

RiverClan Bullet FTU
|| RiverClan ||

Bearstar | StruggleMatch | Fellow Leader

Bearstar has been a recognizable figure for a large portion of Thawstar's adult life- a deputy to Pikestar for moons and moons, his retirement was not a surprise. And despite the shocking circumstances of RiverClan leadership and deaths, she wasn't surprised to see him step up to the plate once more. He's an aged leader, traditional in ways Thawstar can agree with.

 WindClan Bullet FTU
|| WindClan ||

Moorstar | frickinkey | Fellow Leader
Out of all the leaders, Moorstar is the cat Thawstar has the most positive feelings towards- as well as most hesitation. Moorstar was the cat that saved her life in the harsh mountains, and though she hates that she was forced to accept that help, it proves the other an honorable cat in her eyes. She is also aware that a large debt is owed now- and she wouldn't put it past Moorstar to call it in for favours.

 SkyClan Bullet FTU
|| SkyClan ||

Palethroat | TailRotor | Deputy
Palethroat is a cat incredibly similar and apart from Thawstar in any given moment. Thawstar sees her own drive in the younger male, and actively sought out a deputy as driven for clan integrity as she is. Unlike Thawstar, Palethroat has a gift for talk and charm- something Thawstar is aware she lacks and sorely needs, even if it can be a nuisance at times. She has high hopes for her new deputy to stand strong against these trying times, and wont take being disappointed lightly.

Witherwing | Aecava | Medicine Cat
Thawstar holds all of her fellow high-ranks to a high standard, and so far Witherwing has been one to deliver. A hard worker during the journey, and a cat who agreed to her promise to tell the clan of StarClan, while Thawstar has not made many visits to the medicine cat den during her time as deputy and lead, she's placing trust in them for now- their word has proven one she agrees with so far. Their more prickly personality doesn't seem to deter her- two birds of a feather in that way.

Thawstar, now that life is starting to find routine again after a full cycle of moons of nothing but misery had kept her busy, has started to realize how distanced she and her sister had become. Being the only family Thawstar has left, she misses its company, but stubbornness as well as her displeasure with Shivertooth's more recent behavior has dissuaded the leader from broaching anything thus far.

StarClan Bullet FTU
|| StarClan ||

Sparrowstar (†) | NPC | Previous Leader
Thawstar did not agree with most of Sparrowstar's more passive and agreeable stances, but she admired the late leader regardless. Sparrowstar had lead the Clan on a journey twice in her life, cut off too short, and Thawstar admired Sparrowstar's unending hope, and even saw a place for her kindness.

Valleyfog (†) | NPC | Mentor/Previous Deputy/Friend
Though it seemed their personalities would've clashed, Valleyfog much more level headed and calm than Thawstar ever was, they got along quite well, and even grew to be close friends when Thawstar became a warrior. The tom wasn't afraid to smack her across the head if she got too ahead of herself, and he was the calmness she needed to experience in her training and her time as a warrior. She tries to keep him in mind now when making decisions.

Roleplay

At being addressed by the medicine cat, Thawstar forced herself to remain still, though made no other actions to relax herself, about to begin her tirade again, mouth already opened, when Thistlebreath beat her to it- speaking first. It did not take more than ten words out of the tom's mouth for Thawstar to decide she didn't like what she was hearing either- her eyes narrowing with a dangerous glint at the pale tabby. She did not give any other reaction past that as Thistlebreath continued- though perhaps it was a worse sign than increased agitation

She didn't move for a few moments after Thistlebreath finished either, not until she raised her head up and squared her shoulders at least, still eerily silent.

"Reconsider?" Thawstar's words were a roar, pointed teeth bared in her snap of an outburst. She made no aggressive step forward towards the medicine cat, though the rest of her body language suggested a rather strong desire to claw at the nearest living animal, Thistlebreath or not. Head dropped back down and her voice nothing but a spitting hiss, she continued, "Nothing is protected by these lies, Thistlebreath, except your own desire for complacency."

She spat, and began her pacing once more, though her eyes did not stray off the tom, "And I will have no part of it. They deserve to know. SkyClan is strong. We are not mewling kits who need to be protected from the truth- the inevitable. They would know one way or another. I will not be the one to keep it from them. And neither will you."
